Pleasant Valley, Nevada, 2019
More recently, along with Steve Wesnousky from University of Nevada, Reno, I conducted a paleoseismology study along two central segments of the Pleasant Valley Fault, Nevada. A trenching campaign was already performed during the months of September and October 2019, across 4 sites and 5 trenches. Several paleo-earthquakes were recognized for the past 40 ka according with preliminary ages from Luminescence samples. Long term deformation rates will be estimated from displaced alluvial fans surfaces, based on TCN ages. |

In this project, several actions actions towards outreach were conducted in collaboration with Great Basin College. One of them corresponds to small outreach videos with the UNR students, explaining aims and different steps of our research, and how to prepare a paleoseismological trench to be studied. If you are curious, take a look at the videos next to this text. |
